Chanukah — Level 2

Before class: Print the lyrics sheet and prepare the vocabulary flashcards. Preview the song so you know the tempo — it moves quickly.

In class:

1. Open with the vocabulary flashcards. Do one quick "hear and repeat" round, then a "hear and point" round.
2. Play the song once straight through — listening only, no lyrics.
3. Distribute or display the lyrics sheet and play again. Encourage students to follow along silently.
4. Third listen: invite students to join in on any words they recognise.

Tip: If students struggle with the speed, slow the YouTube playback to 0.75× for the second and third listens.

Extension: Ask students to circle the Chanukah vocabulary words they can find on the lyrics sheet, then write one sentence using a word of their choice.
